Honorable Mentions: Big Nee, YSN Black Heffe, Baby RawĪlthough relatively new to the Columbus scene, Bucket made waves with his “YSN Trapp Sunna Flow Remix.” Shot by Kosmodidit, Bucket flows over YSN Trapp’s locally infamous “Stunna Flow.” This remix garnered over 40k YouTube views and is a testament to the strength of Columbus’ small scene. As of now, Columbus’ rap scene is very under the radar, but over the next year, you can count on these five Columbus artists to make noise in the rap game. Columbus’ sound can best be characterized as an evolution of Atlanta’s famous trap sound. Over the last year, due to the rise of rappers with easily replicable styles like Dababy and Lil Tjay, many artists, and regional hip hop scenes lack originality. Propelled by a few key players- producers, videographers, and of course, rappers- the city is making noise without a single major label artist. While it may not be the biggest scene, Columbus’ sound has a unique, creative energy about it. He once stated in an interview that his life has always been really bad when everyone wants to do something.With a population of just under 200,000, Columbus is often overlooked in the Georgia rap conversation.
